The Troop Medical Clinic is an addition and renovation of the existing clinic at the Department of Military Affairs at Fort Harrison, Montana. The project consisted of adding approximately 4300 square feet of space and renovating the existing clinic, transitioning a house that held a clinic into a true clinic.
Starting with the excavation we placed the structural fill and formed the footings. Once we had the slab poured we started to tear into the existing roof structure. This went well exept for the fact that some of the previous construction was done differently than expected. We came to find out that the original drawings were not to be found at the time of design of the new addition and renovation.
When we were done with the strucutural demolition we began to frame the new addition. The addition had a large roof with a 3/12 pitch. The roof structure consisted of strucurally insulated panels. Once we had about a third of them on the framing below, we noticed that the panel layout was wrong.  It was not the layout, but the fabrication of the panels that was wrong.  We called the supplier and had them make three more panels at the correct length and had them delivered.  Surprisingly there were not too many unforeseen items for this renovation.
The design team and R&R Taylor Construction worked extremely well together to finish the medical clinic in the allotted time, two months ahead of time.  This is how you take ashy to classy in eight months.
